Acknowledgement of Country printable licence

DANIELLE LEEDIE GRAY ABN 93 628 105 282 – ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY PRINTABLE LICENCE

These terms apply when you buy an Acknowledgement of Country printable from Danielle Leedie Gray (“I”, “me”). “You” means the person, school or organisation named on the order.

1. What you’re buying

You’re buying a licence to use one design, not ownership of it. Your purchase includes the design you chose (People gathering or Travelling sign), supplied as print-ready A4 and A3 PDFs, with a printing and use guide.

The licence is one-off, non-exclusive and has no expiry date. Copyright in the artwork, symbols and design stays with me. Others may buy a licence for the same design.

2. Licence types

  • Classroom or personal. Who it’s for: the person named on the order. Where you can use it: one classroom at a time, or your own home or personal space.

  • Site. Who it’s for: the school or organisation named on the order. Where you can use it: one school campus, or one workplace at one address.

  • Multiple sites. Who it’s for: the school or organisation named on the quote. Where you can use it: the sites listed on your written quote.

Your order confirmation records the design you chose, your licence type and the classroom or site it covers.

A classroom licence stays with the person named on the order and can be used in one classroom at a time. If you move to a different classroom, you can take it with you, but you must remove the copies from the previous classroom. If your poster includes local names, the wording must remain appropriate for the new location; if it doesn’t, you’ll need a new local-name order. A classroom licence can’t be transferred to another person.

3. What you can do

  • Print as many copies as you need to display within your licensed classroom or site.

  • Show the complete, unaltered PDF on screens physically within your licensed classroom or site, for example at the start of a meeting or assembly.

  • Read the Acknowledgement aloud, including adding a personal reflection about the place where you gather. The poster file itself stays unchanged.

  • Ask a commercial printer or print shop to print copies for you. They may use the file only to print your order.

  • Keep the files in secure internal storage that only staff administering your licensed classroom or site can access, so you can reprint them.

4. What you can’t do

  • Share, give away, resell or sublicense the files or printed copies beyond your licensed classroom or site.

  • Make the files available outside that secure storage, including on public websites, social media, organisation-wide intranets, or drives shared with other schools, sites or organisations.

  • Use the poster in livestreams, video recordings or public online content.

  • Change the design, wording, layout or colours of the PDF, except through my local-name service.

  • Extract, trace, redraw, recolour or reuse the artwork or symbols on their own, or in any other design, logo, merchandise or product.

  • Remove or hide the artwork credit, “Artwork and design · Danielle Leedie Gray”.

  • Use the artwork or files to train or prompt AI tools, or include them in any dataset.

  • Claim the artwork or design as your own.

5. Local-name orders

  • You supply the complete wording for the opening sentence, including the Traditional Owner names.

  • You’re responsible for checking the names, spelling and wording with appropriate local sources before you order. I set the text exactly as supplied. I don’t research, verify or advise on names, boundaries or cultural content.

  • I check each sentence for fit within the approved layout. If it doesn’t fit comfortably, I’ll contact you before making any adjustment.

  • I’ll send your first proof within two business days of receiving your payment and complete wording, and your final files within one business day of your approval. Business days exclude weekends and Queensland public holidays.

  • Your order includes one proof and one correction to the wording you supplied.

  • If I make a typesetting error, I’ll correct it free of charge. It doesn’t count as your included correction.

  • Further changes you ask for after your included correction can be quoted separately.

  • The finished files are covered by the licence you bought, for the classroom or site named on your order.

6. Respect and cultural context

An Acknowledgement of Country shows respect for Traditional Owners. It doesn’t replace a Welcome to Country, which is given by Traditional Owners or people they have authorised.

The symbols come from my creative practice. These are my use and interpretation of the symbols. They aren’t intended to represent meanings shared by all Aboriginal cultures.

7. Digital product and refunds

This is a digital download. No physical print or frame is supplied. I don’t offer refunds if you simply change your mind. This doesn’t affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If there’s a problem with your files, contact me and we’ll sort out the right remedy, which may be a repair, replacement or refund, depending on the problem.

8. If the terms are broken

If the files are used outside these terms, I’ll contact you, explain the issue and give you 14 days to fix it. You can fix it by stopping the unauthorised use, or by buying the licence that covers how the poster is being used. If it isn’t fixed within 14 days, I may end your licence by written notice, and you’d need to stop using the files and printed copies.

9. General

  • This licence is the separate licence for digital products referred to in my website terms and conditions.

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

  • If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.

  • For multi-site licences or questions, contact me at collaborate@danielleleediegray.com.au.
